Our Family’s Story

Erin’s son Henry was diagnosed with autism at the age of 4. But she had been advocating for him since he was an infant. Henry was colicky and struggled as a baby, yet always evaded definition and diagnosis. He was enrolled in a state funded early intervention program at a young age, and Erin put a great deal of time and effort into making sure he received the right speech, behavioral and occupational therapy.

When he aged out of the program at three, the challenges with Henry didn’t go away, but the support did. He would have ups and downs, and still something didn’t seem quite right. There was something special about Henry and he just needed the right help. Erin met with many doctors and practitioners, feeling frustrated that she couldn’t find the answers. It seemed like no one would listen, no one understood, and she felt like she was searching her way through a maze with no guide or direction.

With the autism diagnosis, there was finally an answer, but still no clear path. Erin set to work getting Henry the services and therapies he needed and deserved, and soon found herself overwhelmed in a confusing ocean of forms, phone calls, ill-defined programs and difficult choices. All of this happened during the early stages of the COVID pandemic, adding even more confusion and fear to the mix.

Erin understands the practical challenges and emotional weight of finding the right answers and help for her child. She knows what it’s like to feel lost in seemingly infinite amounts of information and choices. She has been there and found her way. She can help your family do the same.

Finding out your child has special needs can be stressful and frightening at first, but when you get on the right path, it’s truly thrilling to see your little one get the help they need and grow into their best self. Erin understands, and she can help get you there.
